Blog19 After 2 months Hiatus, writing this blog because This was a completely new experience. Okay, so this post is all about the place where you would hear the loudest of the cries and Blood spilt like water.Yes, That's true, its about the Labour Room. I was posted in The Gynaecology department from  12th July to 5th August 2022. The duration of the posting was of 3 weeks and It was HECTIC . From learning how to talk to patient to actually seeing a placenta delivery in front of my eyes! In 2nd year You should be aware of how to take history of the patient properly.  Got to see a lot of new borns .They were so tiny(and loud) I remember when we had a class in the casualty and Sir told us to do the Per-Vaginal Examination. That moment I was shit scared. Glad,Sir upon seeing the expressions dropped that idea😂 This posting was so EVENTFUL 😂👏 In my ward leaving exam today, I was assigned a case of female who was going through leaking per vaginum. She was cooperative ...

Biochemistry Pre-proff practical Exam Experience! |Indian MedSchool Story|

Blog 9
Okay, First of all, wishing everyone a very happy last day of 2021(not even a day, writing this post literally one and half hour before 12am😂😂)
This post is about my biochemistry practical exam Experience.
Biochemistry reminds me of the time I spent in those Labs at Hindu College when I was a Chemistry Major for a year😂.Those memories really was filled with happiness and cheer. The reason why I love Performing those Biochemistry practicals is because It reminds me of Hindu College!
Okay,Let's get back to the MBBS story😂
Though, this wasn't our batch's first time to biochemistry practical exam. The "woke" biochemistry faculty did take our practical exams before and This time the experience was fun 😂
The practical involves spotting, then performing OSPE; then one practical was assigned to you and you have to perform that; then followed by Table viva which was based on the practical you were assigned.
Talking about Spotting, The group my roll no. fell under, was on 3rd turn for the biochemistry. So, to be more aware of what the spots can come under, We took the catch and asked our fellow batchmates that what can actually come under spotting.Luckily what are fellow batchmates told us about the spotting was exactly the same😂 So in this regard, Spotting was easy✨
Next comes, the OSPE, I had to perform "Rothera's test" that comes under qualitative test for urine.
I was called to perform. Though, I knew how to perform it,I still made a mistake😑 and end up taking the wrong proportions of the experiment.
*facepalm*
My professor scolded me for that🙂(like Shipra Gautam you can't even get things correct even After memorising it all over😑)
Then comes the practical part, Again there was a system to draw out a chit and then a practical would be alloted to you.
But biochemistry is a nice subject😊 Here, you don't have to memorise the whole procedure of the experiment as procedure will already be provided to you on the workstation alloted😂
Like, seriously Performing practical exam with the procedure already presented to you😂😂
I was alloted Rothera's test again 😑and estimation of serum protein.
But this time I was determined, I won't mess up like I did previously.
I wrote the practical with utmost fine Handwriting 😂
Then went to Usha to ask what's her practical. Then I found out She and I had been allotted the same practical.
*Cheers to our luck*😂
I performed the serum protein level well and got the readings correct in one go!(Things like this, do happen to me!😂)
Then came, the part to perform 'Rothera's test' which is actually the experiment to investigate Ketone bodies present in urine.
With utmost determination I started the practical but didn't get the purple ring in first go😑
I was so irritated.I performed the experiment again, sadly this time I failed too.
Then I went to the lab staff to ask if there's any problem with the sample given to me.later Found out that the Ammonia present on my Workplace was not to be used, instead freshly prepared Ammonia had to be used over. Lab staff arranged Ammonia. This time I failed to get the purple ring again😂😑
By the time I was contemplating to perform it again, I told Usha to perform it for me😂
And Guess what? She actually Got my practical done😂😂
But I couldn't show my readings to my professor because she was just seconds late and before I was called for viva.
My professor didn't scold me and just told me to be cautious next time, at the time proffs because things like these will hamper my score.
Viva went pretty good!✨
Overall, this experience was good.
PS: That's Usha in the picture, performing the practical for me😂
Thank You, for reading this.
I finished writing this now,11:20pm. It's just 40mins away from "New Year 2022"
If you have come up till here, Do tell me about your Resolutions in comments✨❤
