Blog19 After 2 months Hiatus, writing this blog because This was a completely new experience. Okay, so this post is all about the place where you would hear the loudest of the cries and Blood spilt like water.Yes, That's true, its about the Labour Room. I was posted in The Gynaecology department from  12th July to 5th August 2022. The duration of the posting was of 3 weeks and It was HECTIC . From learning how to talk to patient to actually seeing a placenta delivery in front of my eyes! In 2nd year You should be aware of how to take history of the patient properly.  Got to see a lot of new borns .They were so tiny(and loud) I remember when we had a class in the casualty and Sir told us to do the Per-Vaginal Examination. That moment I was shit scared. Glad,Sir upon seeing the expressions dropped that idea😂 This posting was so EVENTFUL 😂👏 In my ward leaving exam today, I was assigned a case of female who was going through leaking per vaginum. She was cooperative ...

Blog18 Hello to amazing humans out there, who genuinely love checking out my blog even when I don't post regularly. So a big major update, I have finally passed my 1st year! Imagine finally waving a goodbye(not really) to Anatomy books. Finally Making new space for another round of subjects  *okay a lil bit of background story* I was so much apprehensive everyday before my result came because of the little anxious flashbacks that came about what I actually wrote in my examination sheets!🗑️ Anatomy exam went so much of a toss but ,Can you believe ?I scored 200 out of 300 in that! Can't believe I actually don't have to encounter my Anatomy professors who aced the art of making nonsense comments about me. first year was indeed hard and so much I had to bear last year. Talking about the percentage, I scored 69.4% in my proff. Consider it as 70.0% okay!😂😂 That joy doesn't seem to go away really. The moment I remember  the mental breakdown I had on my Biochemis...

First year ends! Practical Exam Edition |Indian MedSchool Story|

Image
I had my proffs done recently and the level of Calm i finally received that I do not have to face Anatomy( goodness gracious If I not end up reappearing🕉) So Physiology Viva was tricky and I was late(as usual) I had my spotting and helped all of my other batchmates😇 Then came the Hematology practicals or " Khooni practicals" I was assigned Differential Leucocyte Count😭 I never performed that in my life, but this time I had to! Lab Staff helped me in the preparation but the slide wasn't even prepared😭 Then I manipulated the readings because I don't want to get any scolding from the HOD or external. I felt happy that External came to take my viva and when she saw my slide she instead of shouting at me, said "It's okay, nevermind".My readings were not in the way It was supposed to be written😭 I don't know what will happen now! Coming to the next viva, was of Amphibian Graph and Charts, It went good. Then came Cranial nerve examination,...

The Doctor-ly lectures in First year MBBS!ECE lectures |Indian MedSchool Story✨|

blog15 This was one of the most fun and learning Experiences I had in my first year. So as per new Curriculum, lectures were added that was based on introducing "Early Clinical Exposure" to newly entered Medicos. These lectures were so informative and helped to gain more knowledge both in Surgical and Medicine aspect. Most of the lectures were taken up by professors of Surgery that was called up by the Department of Anatomy. Every week on Monday 2-3PM we had our ECE lectures. These lectures were based on more clinical aspect to the common diseases we learnt in our subjects of 1st year. We were introduced to the surgical aspect of say,how Thyroid is removed called Thyroidectomy by the department of Surgery.  How to treat Jaundice and Dehydration by the Department of Physiology. Even we had a lecture that was based upon Antenatal care that was delivered by the Department of Obstretics and Gynaecology. All these lectures opened our horizon and made learning more easier than to j...

Concept of AETCOM in first year MBBS! |Indian MedSchool Story|

Image
Okay, so I am writing this post when I just completed my Foundation Course logbook because obviously this carries marks, And you as an MBBS student  should never fail to fetch score, You getting for extra tad-bits(because MBBS exams speaks for itself😌) So though our "Covid-stuck/ruined ever-so-fine 2020batch" didn't get the opportunity to be a part of Foundation course, writing about it like How the experience would have been, seems kinda made-up for me🤣 I still remember our professors used to say(tease), Foundation course brings a fun side to your Med School life before you actually start in the grind for the academics.  Another concept that is different from the academics is AETCOM ,that aims on the overall intellectual and behavioral aspects of a Doctor.  AETCOM stands for Attitude,Ethics and Communication. Medicos get to study this subject via discussions  from various department. Even we get to express our learnings in the form of Assignment that ...

Books for NEET PREPARATION! |Indian MedSchool Story|

First of all a big kudos to everyone who dreams of becoming a doctor! The feeling that you want to help and serve the people suffering,is truly commendable. Though the process of getting a seat in MBBS isn't easy though. In India You have to crack NEET exam to get into MBBS.The competition in NEET is over the top. The exam comprises of 3 subjects and is of 720 marks. Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Books to prefer during NEET preparation Biology- NCERT is a must to cover in Biology. NCERT at Fingertips is indeed a good bookbook, for practicing questions. Solving previous years' questions is a must. Botany is quite hard to memorise so try to learn examples using Mnemonics and flashcards. Chemistry For Inorganic Chemistry, cover NCERT completely. For Organic, I find NCERT is a bit vague.Try to grasp concepts via Onlineand Youtube Sources.Use MS Chouhan to cover questions.  For Physical Chemistry, Cover Theory by NCERT. Practice Questions from OP Tandon. Previous year JEE questi...
